So, today I went to Lycée des Lumières to celebrate the European Day of Languages... with tea !
"Hello, sir"
Colour me impressed. How did that student by the door even know who I was ? Well, my God-Save-the-Queen pin might have been a dead give away, but it turned out, he was actually greeting every one in English. Wow.
But that was just the amuse-bouche (yes, pun intended).
The students visited the "Teatime Museum", where they explored its history and customs to answer a quick quiz (as you know, the Brits love their quizzes).
Afterwards, they got to taste various types of tea and finger foods. Homemade brownie and jelly and blondie and custard and tiny sandwiches and carrot cake and whatnot !
And tea.
Kudos to Ms Chiche, Mrs Alidany, Mrs Djenedi and Mrs Ribeiro for preparing all that and letting their students learn about culture in a fun way !
